As the quality control subcontractor for the general contractor Marcon Construction, MLA Geotechnical was involved with this $1.75 million bank project in Austin, Texas from the planning stages through the opening. MLA Geotechnical won a competitive bid to the general contractor Marcon Construction for quality control testing services. As the project proceeded, Marcon Construction requested and received additional testing beyond the City of Austin scope. Due to MLA Geotechnical's long standing relationship with both the owner and the general contractor, this cost overrun did not require an addendum to the original contract.

All on-site quality control testing was performed by MLA Geotechnical. Site development testing included running proctors and density testing all trench backfill for underground facilities, running proctors and density testing for select fill building pads for all structures, and running proctors and density testing for base course for all parking and driveways. Foundation testing included pier verification and concrete testing, pond wall footings, pond wall pre-pour inspection and concrete testing, main building pad pre-pour and concrete testing, drive through bank pad pre-pour and concrete testing, cistern rainwater collection system pad pre-pour and concrete testing, and parking pre-pour and concrete testing.
