Judge Jim Powers Corporate Representative
Judge Jim Powers is a successful entrepreneur, with experience in both the public and private sectors. Powers started his private business enterprise with one grocery store in Dripping Springs, which he quickly grew to a diversified food corporation. During this time, Powers actively served his community, including serving on the Dripping Springs Planning and Zoning Commission. In 1998, he was elected Hays County Judge. For the next eight years, Judge Powers helped lead one of the fastest-growing counties in Texas. Powers also has served on the boards of Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and Capital Area Council of Governments, and was appointed by the governor to the Board of Directors for the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority. He is also a member of the International Association of Financial Planners. In 2016, Powers was elected to the Board of Directors for the Pedernales Electric Cooperative, the largest electric distribution co-op in the United States.
